Touch: A collaboration

A Collaboration with EC (@erroneouschoices) – Desire is a prayer that forgets how to kneel.

This was the first collaboration EC and I ever shared. We’ve written together many times since, but this one still lives close to the center. Originally posted June 2020.

I know I might get sick from this love brewing inside me but I can’t turn away. There are so many uppercase feelings whispered in lower case timbre, I need you to read me hard and harder. Twist my honey hair around your fist and then listen to the incantations of my blood and bones.

I can feel the song of your soul
and the throb of your need
as I place a finger in your mouth
asking to be bitten
Drink deeply of me
I taste of warm blood and boiling passion
I’m pleasure and poison
I’m the silken touch of a razor.

You are a devil with liquor on your breath chasing an angel with a honey tongue. Or is that me?

I am twisted in circles
by your bourbon-soaked kisses
and the feel of your honey laden tongue against my skin
You are wildfire
grace
and sanctified sin.

You transform this devil and set my halo right, tarnished and bent as it is. I speak in sandpaper whispers and bladed metaphors that taste like ash and cut my lips, because all I want in my mouth, against my lips, covering my tongue is you.  And, the things I need to say are secret words that broken angels cannot utter.

It’s not salacious
that you know what renders me breathless,
a touch that leaves me drenched for years in a memory.
I want to see the music under your skin
and the ocean in your sky,
the moon in your eyes.

I feel my halo slipping.  If you stitch it to my skin with strands of your golden hair, I’ll tattoo my secret words onto your thighs.

I will let you inside if you promise to stay and I don’t mean that in purity but organically, without pause. Sanctified healing made manifest.
