A Million Little Fires

A Collaboration with EC (@erroneouschoices)

My roots touch every thought you have,
your skin has always been mine but
I couldn’t stop you and you’re a river now

The explosions come without warning. There’s a kind of serenity in that. It settles as soon as it’s seen. The aftermath is where it unthreads. Sequence breaks. Rhythm disappears. The body keeps moving anyway. Holding turns into pressure, and it doesn’t soften when you let go.

my aura is untied at the ankles
to walk the petal-pink tightrope of being.
my book always opens to the same page
covered in bite marks and morning rituals.

The quiet isn’t empty. It gathers, soft and persistent. The shape of it remains as everything around it shifts. It doesn’t ask to be named. You don’t close it. You just leave it.

My limp is an aching rage learning how to breathe
I exist in this burning world,
unraveling like the silence of an obsidian sky
I’m gentle but not delicate, your secret life is safe with me
